Ms. Linda Ollis Taylor will deliver the Laity Address to the 2017 WNC Annual Conference on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. in the Stuart Auditorium of the Lake Junaluska Retreat and Conference Center. The address, entitled “Living the Call of Baptism to Grow in Faith and Make Disciples” [Matthew 28:18-20], was chosen from among numerous entries submitted from by lay persons from across the WNCC.
Lay members, selected to represent the 285,000 lay members of the Western North Carolina Conference of The United Methodist Church (WNCC), join their clergy brothers and sisters for Annual Conference to conduct WNCC business, worship together, prayerfully discern where we are called as a conference, and celebrate the ministry Christ is doing in our midst. The Board of Laity session is set aside to focus exclusively on the ministry and call-to-service of our laity. During this session, the conference leadership, delegates, and guests learn about the impact of our United Methodist Women, United Methodist Men, United Methodist Youth, and Board of Laity – an impact felt in the local church, community, and world.
Ms. Taylor is a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church located near Spruce Pine, North Carolina in the Appalachian District.
